1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing, browsing, signing in to, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of a guild, clan, or other organisation, you represent that you are authorised to accept these Terms on its behalf.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Fan project — not official
Unofficial fan-made map. Mortal Online 2 and all related names, lore, and imagery are trademarks of Star Vault AB. Not affiliated with or endorsed by Star Vault.
Mortal Online 2 Map is an unofficial, non-commercial fan project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or associated with Star Vault AB, the developers and publishers of Mortal Online 2, in any way. Mortal Online 2, Sarducaa, Nave, and all related names, marks, emblems, lore, artwork, and imagery are the property of Star Vault AB and their respective owners. All such trademarks are used here for identification and reference only, under nominative fair use, and remain the property of their owners.
Map data, coordinates, and points of interest are community-contributed and provided for convenience. They may be incomplete, inaccurate, or out of date, and are not an official source of game information.
3. Eligibility and age
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
4. Your account
Some features require signing in through a third-party identity provider such as Discord or Google (OAuth). You are responsible for maintaining the security of the third-party account you use to sign in and for all activity that occurs under your session. Notify us promptly at a.tsubanov@gmail.com if you believe your account has been compromised. Details of what we collect when you sign in are described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Your content and the license you grant
The Service lets you create and submit content — including map markers, routes, notes, chat messages, feedback, and similar contributions (“User Content”). As between you and us, you retain whatever rights you already hold in your User Content. We do not claim ownership of it.
To operate the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, display, adapt (for formatting and display purposes), distribute, and otherwise use your User Content solely for the purposes of operating, providing, moderating, promoting, and improving the Service. This licence exists so that we can show your contributions to other users, back them up, and moderate them. It ends when you delete the relevant User Content or your account, except for content others have re-shared, content retained in routine backups for a limited period, and content we must keep to comply with the law.
You represent that you have the necessary rights to submit your User Content and that it does not infringe the rights of any third party or violate these Terms. We may, but are not obligated to, review, moderate, edit, or remove User Content.
6. Acceptable use
When using the Service, you agree that you will not:
- Post spam, advertising, scams, or repetitive or off-topic content.
- Harass, threaten, bully, defame, or incite violence against any person, or engage in hate speech targeting protected characteristics.
- Post content that is unlawful, obscene, sexually exploitative (especially anything involving minors), or that infringes intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
- Share other people’s private or personal information (doxxing) without their consent.
- Deliberately submit false, misleading, or malicious map data intended to grief, mislead, or endanger other players.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts, or private or clan-restricted map layers; circumvent rate limits, access controls, or watermarks; or scrape, overload, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the Service.
- Impersonate any person or organisation, including Star Vault AB or its staff.
- Use the Service in violation of any applicable law or the terms of the third-party services it relies on (including Discord, Google, and Mortal Online 2).
Our community expectations are described in more detail on the Rules page, which forms part of these Terms.
7. Moderation, suspension, and termination
We may, at our discretion and without prior notice, remove or edit any User Content, restrict features, and suspend or permanently ban any account or user that we believe has violated these Terms, the Rules, or applicable law, or that creates risk or legal exposure for us or other users. Where practical and appropriate we will try to explain the reason, but we are not obligated to. You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your account at any time as described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Private and clan layers
The Service may offer private or clan-restricted map layers intended to be visible only to authorised members. To protect these layers and deter leaks, views of private layers may carry a personalised, visible watermark identifying the viewing account, and access to private layers may be logged (see the Privacy Policy for details). Sharing, exporting, screenshotting, or otherwise disclosing private or clan-restricted content to unauthorised persons is a violation of these Terms and may result in an immediate ban.
9. Subscriptions and payments
This section applies once paid plans launch. The Service is currently free to use.
If and when we introduce optional paid plans or subscriptions, additional terms will apply and will be presented to you before purchase. Those terms will cover pricing, billing cycles and automatic renewal, taxes, cancellation, and refund eligibility. Payments will be handled by a third-party payment processor (expected to be Stripe); we do not store full payment-card details ourselves. Unless required by law or stated otherwise at the point of sale, fees are non-refundable except where a clearly stated refund policy applies. You will be able to cancel a subscription at any time, with cancellation taking effect at the end of the then-current billing period.
10. Intellectual property in the Service
Excluding game trademarks and lore (which belong to Star Vault AB and other owners) and User Content (which belongs to its contributors), the Service’s original design, code, and compilation of community data are protected by intellectual property laws. You may use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial play, but you may not copy, resell, or redistribute the Service itself without permission.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that map data will be accurate, complete, or current. You use the Service and rely on its data at your own risk.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tom Novakin and anyone involved in operating the Service will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, goodwill, or in-game assets, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us to use the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tom Novakin and the operators of the Service from any claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable expenses arising out of your User Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or the rights of any third party.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the operator’s place of residence, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. [Governing jurisdiction and venue for disputes to be finalised — placeholder pending the operator’s decision.] Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the laws of your own country of residence.
15. Contact
Questions about these Terms can be sent to Tom Novakin at a.tsubanov@gmail.com.
